Dear Colleagues,

This message is to invite you to join our Fugue Forum at:
http://fuga.flauto-dolce.it/
There, composers contribute fugues of their own with substantial commentaries describing how the subject was chosen, what compositional choices were made and why, and adding whatever general reflections the author thinks are interesting and relevant to students, performers and music-lovers.
So far, Michael Talbot, Federico Maria Sardelli and I have joined in, but we are looking forward to you all joining in as well.
All proposals will be subject to the approval of our scientific committee.
Yours sincerely,
Giorgio Pacchioni

Ciao, Giorgio.

A presto, dunque.

Gianluca

As you have already probably noticed, lately both M. Talbot and F. M. Sardelli have joined Vox Saeculorum. It's a pleasure to have scholars such as you with whom to discuss our compositions. The Fugue forum on the Flauto Dolce site is quite interesting, but perhaps not everyone is going to feel up to the challenge of offering his or her essays in counterpoint to your scrutiny. Nevertheless, I would encourage everyone to do it anyway, since, after all, our site is about Baroque music, and we should all be familiar with counterpoint and fugue to be able to properly write in this style of the past. No matter what, it's wonderful to have such variety (concertos, sonatas, vocal music, etc.) and budding talents willing to learn.
