I'm working on the Fuga from Bach's Toccata - BWV 914. I'm not a great pianist, so it's going to take me some time to play through it well. Anyone here ever played through it?

Hi, Jeremy.

BWV 916 is actually an approachable piece, when compared to some of Bach's other keyboard fugues etc. I guess the "hardest" part is the last fugue which you are inquiring about. Hand-separate practice helps. But, as soon as you've worked out the fingering, play both hands together at a MODERATE tempo, not too slow, and work in small blocks (e few measures at a time). I'm not sure how good/bad of a pianist you are, but you should be able to play it with some practice. Good luck! (There are several recordings of it, G. Gould included)
